Upholding the Truth through the Gospel and Good Works

One year shy from being four decades on air, the Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path) program is as eager as ever in upholding the truth through the Gospel and good works with God’s help and mercy.

Continuing the Commandment

Over 2,000 years ago, the Lord Jesus Christ commanded His holy Apostles in the Church of God to preach the Gospel unto all nations.

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
—The Lord Jesus Christ, Matthew 28:18-20, KJV

It is this same commandment that the members of the Church of God International across the globe fervently continue by making The Old Path program available through various means of mass communication.

Radio

Since 1980, radio continues to be a mass communication medium of The Old Path. The program started in DWWA 1206 kHz and eventually broadcasted on the nation’s top radio stations.

To this day, God’s words can be heard in many homes, even in remote places in the Philippines through the radio broadcast of Ang Dating Daan.

Television

Since 1983, the country’s longest-running religious program has indeed come a long way.

The Ang Dating Daan program can now be viewed in different languages and in countries as far as Brazil, Panama, and Mexico in Latin America.

Satellite

Using their existing satellite dishes at home, people across six continents of the globe can tune in to The Old Path and its counterparts in different languages for free.

This is through MCGI’s multiple satellite providers that beam the program to thousands of homes 24/7.

Internet

As early as the Year 2001, the Ang Dating Daan program already had a video streaming service through its official streaming website, webtv.angdatingdaan.net. MCGI is using all communication portals in preaching the words of God.

Now The Old Path also uses the live streaming services of various social media channels and platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

What People Say About The Old Path

“I have met some preachers before, and Bro. Soriano, had just clarified many things before I even asked. I am really impressed because many doubts I had in mind were just answered very clearly.”

—Antonio Fernando, Catholic

“When somebody’s really studied the Bible to that extent, where they can remember all the verses in the Bible, it’s so encouraging. I think he sets the standard in a lot of ways.”

—David and Stephanie, Messianics

“We should follow Bro. Eli’s group as an example. Other organizations should do the same. If it is only done by a single person, that wouldn’t be enough. There should be a group that will really advocate blood donation voluntarily.”

—Dr. Myrna Angeles, Pathology Department Head, ZCMC

“BJMP is very happy for granting our request in providing their medical needs. We are very grateful to Bro. Eli for this extensive medical mission. In fact, this seems to be the biggest overall medical assistance that has ever been conducted here.”

—SJ04 Oliver Obispo, Assistant Jail Warden, San Pablo District Jail

It would later become the program dubbed as Itanong Mo kay Soriano, Biblia ang Sasagot (Ask Bro. Eli, the Bible Will Answer).

2019

39 Years of Upholding the Truth through the Gospel and Good Works

Yet another means of exposing biblical truths and how they reflect in the realities of the world today, The Worldwide Bible Study began this year.

In Bible Expositions, the discussion jumps from topic to topic due to the randomness of the questions asked by guests. The Bible Study on one hand offers a more focused approach to learning biblical truths.

One good example is the series of Bible Studies touching the real birthdate of the Lord Jesus Christ. And as its attendees have learned, biblical proofs and historical truths point to the fact that it could not have been December 25.

As more and more people became curious about their faiths, MCGI responded by holding more Bible Expositions throughout the year in both eastern and western parts of the globe.

Works of Faith

What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
—The Apostle James, James 2:14, KJV

The answer to this question posed by the apostle lies just a few verses down, “faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

It is this belief that has propelled MCGI, the group behind The Old Path program, in upholding its different forms of charitable services.

In fact, to say that the Members Church of God International has been ardent in its public service endeavors maybe at times needless.

For from the scholars it teaches daily to the beneficiaries of its regular medical missions, MCGI’s compassion for others can be easily seen and felt, especially by the countless people it has helped and continues to help through God’s grace and mercy.
